Tongue Fu Boat Party
Tongue Fu is one of the best spoken word shows in the UK. Poets, storytellers, rappers and comedians perform with jaw- dropping improvised soundtracks and films from the genre hopping Tongue Fu Band and East London design studio CR&D. Created and hosted by Chris Redmond who started the band in 2007. Tongue Fu celebrated its tenth anniversary on the beautiful Dixie Queen Paddle Streamer on Monday 25 September 2017. This event was organised by Thames Festival Trust and supported by TLC – Thames Luxury Charters with Dixie Queen Paddle Steamer with amazing event and marketing staff, Arts Council England, Mayor of London and Livett’s Group. I was selected as an exclusive photographer for this event what I was really proud of. Good reference work and a great party.
From London to Lagos: Totally Thames goes global
Received a good news. British Arts Council has just published one of my images taken on Totally Thames Festival and mentioned my small business Gabor Gergely Photography among their contributors. Please have a look at my image and read this interesting article: http://www.artscouncil.org.uk/news/london-lagos-totally-thames-goes-global
Coco Mbassi Musical Artist
Coco Mbassi is an award-winning singer and songwriter originating from Cameroon, born in Paris. Her music is a subtle blend of African roots, classical music, jazz and gospel, along with the modern feeling of acoustic soul music, which she mostly composes herself and co-produces with her husband Serge Ngando Mpondo. Their performance gave a unique vibe to this year Bascule Chambers Concerts.
Bascule Chambers Concerts Curated by Iain Chambers
Bascule Chamber is a subterranean Victoria space at Tower Bridge. Composer and curator Iain Chambers returned to fill this unique venue with a brand new programme of new works, including commissioned spoken word performances and an immersive sound walk exploring London’s greatest hidden space. The line-up included Britain’s leading musique concrete ensemble Langham Research Centre, clarinetist Kate Romano, award-winning Franco-Cameroonian singer Coco Mbassi and poet Kayo Chingonyi. I was invited to photograph their rehearsal and closed performance on site. Working together with veteran photographers from The Guardian and The Telegraph newspapers gave me a really good feeling and motivation to develop my photography business further. Thank you guys for this great experience.
Rivers of The Word Exhibition
Rivers of the World is an international art and education project organised by Thames Festival Trust and British Council. The aim of this project was to connect pupils around the globe to their local rivers through environmental, economic and cultural learning and themes. Young people aged 12 to 14 created creative artworks. This event was held in London City Hall and outside along the riverside pathway by the National Theatre, Tate Modern and at More London. I was really impressed by the creativity and talent of this young generation. Type of projects like Rivers of the World brings various cultures together and make no difference between poor and rich societies as the core of their work is creative art.

Watermans also featured outdoor cinema screenings, creative workshops and much more. It was a great fun for everyone but mainy for families.
Kids Choir & Sing for Water
This was the Totally Thames 2017 advertisement of the last week Kid’s Choir event I photographed at City Hall. “Hear the heart-warming sounds of over 400 primary school children singing together. This colossal choir of young voices will sing a beautiful repertoire of songs from around the world, exploring themes of the Thames and the issues facing children today.” I can confirm that it was all true and these kids gave an amazing extraordinary performance in the Scoop last Sunday.
Classic Boat Festival
Classic Boat Festival at St Katherina Docks I photographed on 9 September was the part of Totally Thames 2017 Festival and brought a number of Londoners and other visitors together. More than 40 vintage sailing and motor yachts plus live music, natural face painting, street food and Moo Canoes were on offer at this public event. Great fun day for all participants and visitors.
Back to the River
Another exciting public event from last weekend. Back to The River as part of Thames Festival 2017 reconnected local communities and people to the history of Bankside through a range of workshops and talks. I am currently working with Totally Thames 2017 organisers to record every memorable moment of this one-month festival.
Future Dust by Maria Arceo
On 3 September, I was asked to photograph a temporary exhibition at Oxo Tower Courtyard by the Totally Thames 2017 organisers. Future Dust exhibition highlights plastic pollution as one of the major global environmental issues in recent time. The World Economic Form has predicted there will be more plastic than fish in the sea in weight by 2050. Artist Maria Arceo has been collecting plastic from over 40 beaches along the tidal Thames down to the Estuary. Her large-scale artwork responding to the sheer scale of plastic litter that is being deposited into the river Thames. Great artwork and a very serious environmental issue of the 21st Century.
Totally Thames 2017 Launch Party
He was just one of those great artists who gave excellent performance on Totally Thames 2017 launch party at Trinity Buoy Wharf on 30 August. I feel proud of being the only exclusive photographer of this event. Excellent reference work for my small business.
Prudential London Ride 2017
Always good to watch a great public competition. It motivates the people and encourages some to do better. I took this photo on Prudential Ride London 2017 and now I am preparing for my next project the river Thames Festival that lasts for 30 days – Totally Thames 2017
